Vice President, Land Development

About the role

The Vice President, Land Development is a senior leader on Anthem’s Sacramento Land Development and House Building team. This role drives the identification, acquisition, entitlement and execution of land opportunities while ensuring compliance with zoning, environmental and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior leaders to define and implement Anthem’s land development strategy.
• Lead acquisition and entitlement processes, securing approvals from city and county agencies.
• Maintain and grow relationships with land development contractors, brokers and industry partners.
• Provide analytics and reporting to support long‑term strategic decisions.
• Mentor and develop team members, fostering a collaborative, diverse, and inclusive environment.
• Oversee planning, design and construction of land development projects for the Sacramento office.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 10+ years of proven experience in land development.
• Strong business acumen and superior oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze data and produce actionable reports.
• Established relationships with brokers and competitors.
• Familiarity with federal, state and local regulations affecting real‑estate development in California.
