About the role
The Utilities Reliability Manager at the Williamsburg brewery will lead reliability, maintenance strategy and continuous improvement for all powerhouse equipment and associated utilities systems. The role works closely with the Utilities Business Process Manager, maintenance technicians, powerhouse operators and engineering to maximize equipment uptime and optimize maintenance costs.
Key responsibilities
- Support the utilities operation in achieving KPIs for equipment reliability, efficiency and maintenance performance.
- Lead implementation and standardisation of reliability‑centred maintenance (RCM) and best‑practice processes across packaging assets.
- Act as subject‑matter expert for root‑cause failure analysis and Six Sigma problem‑solving.
- Develop and execute reliability strategies for ammonia refrigeration, boilers/steam, CO₂ collection, water treatment, compressed air, high‑voltage switchgear and automation systems.
- Coordinate technical training programmes for maintenance and operations personnel.
- Maintain and enhance the CMMS, ensuring accurate asset data, reporting and user training.
- Partner with engineering on capital projects, equipment upgrades and lifecycle planning, including ROI analyses.
- Own and manage departmental maintenance ZBB and VIC budgets.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related technical discipline (preferred).
- 5+ years leading maintenance and reliability programmes in an industrial, high‑speed manufacturing or food‑and‑beverage environment.
- Experience with utilities equipment, automation, controls and industrial electrical systems.
- Proven ability to coach, develop and train skilled trades, preferably in a unionised setting.
