USAC Apps IT Portfolio Manager

About the role

3M is seeking an Application Portfolio Manager for the USAC Applications IT organization. This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize, communicate and direct multiple IT activities, resources and policies.
• Manage the life‑cycle of the application portfolio, including health, technical debt, PMT/ITSM maintenance, ITCP completion and cost to serve.
• Set medium‑term IT strategic direction, operating plans and contribute to long‑term organizational strategy.
• Provide input for IT‑related spend and implement corporate and regional technology standards and processes.
• Evaluate business needs regarding IT systems, equipment, data, support and training.
• Directly supervise a team aligned to the Portfolio Focus Area.
• Manage and prioritize projects across the organization, setting development priorities and resource plans.
• Initiate, lead, approve and sponsor various IT improvement activities and projects.
• Communicate regularly with leadership, corporate technical teams and functional leaders to obtain approval and change acceptance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with at least seven years of IT or Supply Chain experience (or high school diploma with ten years of relevant experience).
• Five years prior supervisory experience.
• Five years experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Five years experience in software portfolio management.
• Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, communication, problem‑solving, time‑management and project‑planning skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while juggling multiple priorities.
• Self‑motivated, analytical with strong attention to detail and ability to maintain remote working relationships.
