UN Journal Internship – Editorial & Publishing Support

About the role

The United Nations Secretariat is looking for motivated interns to support the Journal Unit within the Central Planning and Coordination Division. This six‑month, unpaid internship offers hands‑on experience in editorial, information management and multilingual publishing for the Journal of the United Nations.

Key responsibilities

• Learn the editorial and publication workflow of the UN Journal.
• Assist in research, compilation and organization of meeting‑related information.
• Support data review for internal databases, dashboards and training materials.
• Contribute to multilingual publishing and digital content‑management projects.
• Observe and help maintain the Journal Content Management System (JCMS).
• Prepare reference materials, user guides, SOPs and training resources.
• Participate in meetings with Secretariat offices and event organizers.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a university program or recent graduate.
• Strong interest in international affairs, publishing or information management.
• Excellent written communication in English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
