UI Tax Analyst

About the role

The UI Tax Analyst supports the Unemployment Insurance (UI) Employer Accounts unit of the Georgia Department of Labor. Working under general supervision, you will handle tax account adjustments, lien cancellations, refunds, and data entry for tax and wage reports.

Key responsibilities

• Review, validate and adjust tax contributions and quarterly/annual tax reports.
• Correct departmental account errors and issue or deny credit refunds.
• Validate delinquencies and process tax‑lien filings or cancellations at county courthouses.
• Process tax and wage reports, sort mail, and complete data entry of report records.
• Respond to employer and payroll‑provider emails and phone inquiries.
• Handle mail processing and other related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Tax or a related field, or an Associate degree with two years of accounting/fiscal control experience.
• At least one year of experience interpreting and applying Unemployment Insurance Tax laws, rules and regulations.
• One year of experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Access in an office setting.
• Ability to type at least 50 words per minute.
