Transit Bus Driver – University Shuttle

About the role

The Transportation Center at Prairie View A&M University is seeking a reliable Transit Bus Driver to operate its 15‑30 passenger shuttle service. The driver will ensure safe, on‑time transport of students between campus locations and designated off‑site sites.

Key responsibilities

• Drive a 15‑30 passenger bus safely following assigned schedules.
• Transport students between pickup and drop‑off points on campus and off‑campus.
• Operate wheelchair and ADA‑access equipment to accommodate passengers with disabilities.
• Use two‑way radio and paging systems for communication.
• Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, maintain log books, and complete required reports.
• Keep the bus clean and refuel at the end of each shift.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of relevant driving experience.
• Valid Texas driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Ability to operate various bus types in traffic, adverse weather, and congested conditions.
• Strong concentration, independent judgment, and effective communication skills.
• Capacity to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
