Training Specialist (Training Development)

About the role

The Training Specialist will lead the design, development, and oversight of training programs for United States Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM). This position ensures that training materials meet mission requirements and supports the professional growth of personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop training materials and course outlines for mandatory and specialized training.
• Provide leadership, management, and coordination of training support programs across USSOUTHCOM.
• Offer policy and procedural guidance on training support coordination, master scheduling, and evaluation systems.
• Develop unique training programs tailored to specific personnel needs.
• Manage resource requirements, lesson plans, learning objectives, and course length.
• Coordinate with educational institutions and other agencies as needed.

Required profile

• One year of specialized experience developing training programs and coordinating with educational partners.
• Eligibility under applicable DoD employment categories (e.g., veterans, military spouses, disabled).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret SCI clearance.
• Willingness to travel occasionally (TDY) and work overtime.
• Pass a background investigation and drug testing as required.
