Tenant Law Legal Assistant (Remote)

About the role

Job Duck is looking for a highly organized Legal Assistant to support a busy tenant‑law practice. This remote, full‑time position involves case preparation, document management, client communication, and deadline tracking to ensure efficient progress of legal matters.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records in firm systems and databases.
• Schedule mediations and coordinate related logistics.
• Support daily legal and administrative operations for efficiency and accuracy.
• Draft discovery responses and legal correspondence as assigned.
• Provide clients with case‑status updates.
• Download, organize, and store documents in digital folders.
• Calendar deadlines and monitor critical case dates.
• Assist attorneys with case preparation and ongoing management.
• Prepare and manage legal filings and supporting documentation.
• Conduct legal and case‑related research.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of experience supporting attorneys, legal professionals, or law firms (preferred).
• Basic understanding of California legal procedures (strong plus).
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Comfortable using AI tools or willingness to learn.
• Effective prioritization of multiple tasks and deadline management.
