Technology Consulting Intern 2027

About the role

Protiviti is hiring a Technology Consulting intern for its Charlotte office in 2027. Interns work with clients, typically among the world's leading companies, and collaborate with the team to deliver client-focused solutions to complex business problems. The internship offers exposure to several industries and a preview of Foundations, an entry-level full-time career path covering business operations, consulting, data, technology and innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Work with clients on projects in one of six technology consulting areas: Business Platform Transformation, Enterprise Data, Analytics & AI, Microsoft, Security and Privacy, Technology Risk and Resilience, or Technology Strategy and Architecture.
• Receive hands-on training and project assignments from Talent Managers, supported by a network of advisors.
• Take part in the onboarding experience Liftoff and the experiential learning course The Intern Challenge.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. computer science, data science, engineering, information systems, applied math, machine learning).
• Currently enrolled in a degree program and expected to graduate within 12 months after the internship.
• U.S. work authorization without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Experience solving problems with AI-powered productivity and collaboration tools (e.g. Microsoft Copilot, GenAI).

Required skills

• Advanced verbal and written communication and critical thinking.
• Technical proficiency matching the assigned capability area.
• Preferred: BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, QlikView, Cognos, MicroStrategy, SSRS; SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, Teradata; Python, Java, JavaScript; IT controls and security topics.
