Technology Audit & Advisory Experienced Consultant

About the role

Protiviti is hiring an Experienced Consultant for its Technology Audit & Advisory practice in Overland Park, Kansas, with St. Louis listed as an additional location. The practice helps clients manage technology-related risks, protect enterprise value, and adopt AI and automation in audit work. Consultants interview, compile and analyse data, document findings and take ownership of assignments, with training and mentorship.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, identify risk and advise clients on technology topics such as cybersecurity, cloud assurance, project risk advisory, IT general controls, data privacy, IT Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and emerging technologies.
• Gather, summarise and examine data, then document findings and summarise recommendations.
• Learn time and project management and take ownership of assignments.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as accounting, finance, information technology, cybersecurity or a business-related field.
• More than 1 year of experience in internal audit, consulting, assurance services, risk and control programs or a related field.
• Interest in a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple industries.

Required skills

• Understanding of IT audit methodologies and deliverables (process flows, work programs, audit reports, control summaries).
• Knowledge of common internal control frameworks such as COBIT, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, CIS and ITIL.
• Sarbanes-Oxley compliance knowledge, especially its technology implications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Visio and Access secondary.
• Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, Python, RPA and similar tools are a plus.
• Professional certification such as CIA, CRMA, CISA, CISM or CISSP is a plus.

What we offer

• Salary range of $62,000-$93,000 depending on experience, skills and location, plus a bonus target of $2,000.
