Technical Recruiter

About the role

Salient is looking for a Technical Recruiter to own end‑to‑end hiring for engineering and AI talent. You will work closely with the CEO and hiring managers to quickly source, assess, and close candidates for a fast‑growing AI‑focused startup.

Key responsibilities

• Own full‑cycle recruiting for technical roles, from sourcing to closing.
• Proactively source and engage software, AI/ML, and infrastructure talent with high outbound volume.
• Move candidates quickly through lean interview stages while maintaining quality.
• Partner directly with the CEO and hiring managers to define role requirements and calibrate expectations.
• Build and maintain a live pipeline of continuously sourced candidates.
• Handle offers, negotiate, and close candidates.
• Identify and fix gaps in the recruiting process without being asked.
• Track recruiting metrics and keep organized candidate records in the Ashby ATS.

Required profile

• 5+ years of full‑cycle recruiting experience, preferably in a startup environment.
• Proven track record hiring engineers (software, AI/ML, or similar technical roles).
• High‑volume sourcing ability with consistent outbound pipeline generation.
• Experience closing skeptical candidates and selling a vision.
• Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast‑paced settings with a hands‑on CEO.
• Willingness to work in‑office four days a week in San Francisco.
