About the role

Join the Georgia State Government as a Technical Instructor for Trades & Industry at Augusta Technical College. You will deliver classroom and online instruction, develop lesson plans, and support student success in vocational education.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans and standardized course syllabi using the college template.
• Provide classroom and/or online instruction in theory and practical applications of trades.
• Evaluate student progress, maintain grading records, attendance, and class rosters.
• Collaborate with the department head to measure learning outcomes and drive continuous improvement.
• Complete required documentation and administrative reports.
• Participate in professional development and utilize instructional technology.
• Maintain a safe learning environment, keep equipment orderly, and post safety procedures.
• Update course materials, textbooks, tools, and evaluation methods as needed.

Required profile

• Knowledge of the mission of postsecondary vocational/technical education.
• Understanding of the college’s academic programs.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively with students, faculty, and staff.
• Effective decision‑making and timely judgment skills.

Required skills

• Skill in the operation of computers and job‑related software.
