Technical Designer – CAD & Autodesk Inventor

About the role

Alfa Laval is seeking a Technical Designer to join its engineering team in Broken Arrow, OK. You will coordinate and execute technical activities on assigned projects using Autodesk Inventor, ensuring designs meet codes, standards, and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Independently produce accurate drawings, models, and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor.
• Interpret engineering notes and sketches, and resolve design‑related issues.
• Generate order‑specific general arrangement and detail component drawings, leveraging iLogic automation.
• Coordinate with engineering disciplines, project managers, customers, suppliers, and shop personnel to ensure design completeness.
• Verify bills of materials, support purchasing, and maintain order tracking systems.
• Provide documentation for regulatory registration (e.g., Canadian Registration Numbers) and ensure compliance with applicable codes.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in Drafting, Design or Engineering (or equivalent industry experience).
• At least 4 years of CAD design experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the air‑cooled heat‑exchanger industry.
• General knowledge of industrial piping and design principles; familiarity with ASME Section VIII and related codes is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor (3D modeling, iLogic).
• Experience using AutoCAD Inventor 3D models.
• Ability to create and verify Bills of Materials (BOM) for production releases.
