Tech Product Development Specialist – Multiple Openings

About the role

Join Nestlé’s Research & Development Center, a regional hub driving innovation in food, beverage and health science. As a Tech Product Development Specialist you will lead the creation of innovative, competitive products and processes, leveraging consumer and technical insights to bring new solutions to market.

Key responsibilities

• Lead product development activities from concept through pilot‑plant trials to factory scale‑up, ensuring compliance with corporate guidelines and timelines.
• Manage bench and pilot‑plant experiments, document all activities, and support industrialization at client sites.
• Collaborate with R&D, application groups, markets, factories and business units in cross‑functional project teams.
• Present findings in product development workshops and provide training to application groups.
• Ensure intellectual asset management, freedom‑to‑operate analysis and protection strategies are applied.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology or related field with at least 1 year experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 3 years experience in the food & beverage industry.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 10 % of the time for product industrialization support and training.
• Ability to work remotely up to 40 % of the week (hybrid work model).

Required skills

• Project management in research and development.
• Food and beverage formulation, especially dairy and non‑dairy emulsions.
• Creation of emulsions using functional ingredients.
• Scientific literature review, including patents and IP management.
• Sensory evaluation of food and beverage products.
• Shelf‑life monitoring and test‑method development for emulsion‑based products.
• Design of Experiments (DoE) and SAP for trial management.
• Writing product recipes, specifications and managing product trial processes.
• Cross‑functional collaboration for new product introduction.
• Contract development and management for external R&D partnerships.
