Team Lead – Copper Depot (1st Shift)

About the role

The Copper Depot Team Lead oversees daily copper material preparation for HVAC equipment, ensuring safety, quality, and on‑time production. This first‑shift position coordinates cutting, bending, brazing and CNC operations while mentoring a team of 10‑15 associates.

Key responsibilities

• Enforce safety protocols, PPE use and proper handling of copper and brazing equipment.
• Perform in‑process quality checks on brazed joints and verify compliance with internal and customer specifications.
• Lead daily operations to meet production schedules, assign tasks and coach team members.
• Operate and supervise CNC machines for copper tube cutting, bending and forming, ensuring precision and maintenance.
• Conduct brazing operations, guaranteeing leak‑free joints according to HVAC standards.
• Train associates on brazing techniques, safety procedures and work instructions.
• Monitor inventory, report shortages and collaborate with engineering and maintenance to resolve issues.
• Maintain 5S/Lean workplace organization and support continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year manufacturing experience in assembly, brazing or CNC operations.
• Prior leadership or team‑lead experience.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and work orders.
• Strong verbal and written English communication.
• Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
