About the role
The Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the College of Education and Health Professions seeks a nine‑month Teaching Assistant Professor of Elementary STEM Education, starting August 16, 2027. This full‑time, non‑tenure‑track position supports undergraduate and graduate programs, including the STEM concentration in the Masters of Arts in Teaching and the K‑6 STEM graduate certificate.
Key responsibilities
- Teach four courses per semester at undergraduate and graduate levels, focusing on integrated STEM methods, elementary mathematics, engineering, and technology.
- Design and facilitate highly interactive, project‑based learning experiences using tools such as 3D modeling and fabrication technologies.
- Mentor and advise students, contributing to their academic and professional development.
- Develop and update curriculum aligned with state and national STEM standards.
- Participate in community‑based STEM outreach, including STEM nights, teacher professional development, and statewide initiatives.
Required profile
- Earned doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction, Elementary Education, Integrated STEM Education, or a closely related field by the start date.
- Demonstrated evidence of highly effective university‑level teaching in elementary integrated STEM, mathematics, or engineering education.
- Evidence of productive service and potential to contribute to departmental, institutional, and professional communities.
