About the role

Drake & Associates is seeking a Tax Advisor to provide proactive tax planning, strategic consulting, and tax preparation services for a diverse client base. The role blends year‑round tax strategy work with seasonal compliance, requiring strong collaboration with Financial Advisors and a focus on delivering high‑quality, client‑centric solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Meet with clients throughout the year to identify tax planning opportunities and minimize current and future tax liabilities.
• Partner with Financial Advisors to integrate tax strategies into comprehensive financial plans.
• Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, trusts, partnerships, corporations, and other entities.
• Research federal and state tax laws, provide guidance on complex matters, and assist with IRS and state notices.
• Build trusted client relationships through responsive, high‑quality service and clear communication of tax recommendations.

Required profile

• Active PTIN (or ability to obtain one before preparing returns).
• Significant professional tax preparation experience with strong individual federal and state income‑tax expertise.
• Experience in tax planning beyond return preparation.

Required skills

• Tax preparation software.
• Research of federal and state tax regulations.
• Preparation of tax projections, estimated payments, and scenario analyses.
