Tax Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to join our finance team in a leading manufacturing company. The role involves preparing and reviewing tax returns, conducting tax research, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns in accordance with applicable tax laws.
• Conduct detailed tax research and planning to minimize liabilities and maintain compliance.
• Develop and implement internal control systems for accurate financial reporting and tax calculations.
• Collaborate with the finance team to produce financial statements and related accounting documents.
• Assist in quarterly and annual tax provision calculations following ASC 740.
• Liaise with tax authorities and external auditors, providing required information and resolving issues.
• Stay current on tax law changes and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Provide guidance to the finance team on tax-related matters and promote continuous learning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or Master’s in Taxation preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of tax accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and capacity to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with tax software.
• Knowledge of sales, use, property, and multi‑state tax regulations.
• Understanding of ASC 740 tax provision calculations.
