Tax Accountant

About the role

Our client, a single‑family office located in Manhattan, NY, is seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to support the preparation of annual tax returns and quarterly estimated tax filings for high‑net‑worth individuals, trusts, and entities.

Key responsibilities

• Support annual tax return preparation and quarterly estimated tax filings.
• Enter 1099s, K‑1s, W‑2s, Axys data, and other tax information into GoSystem.
• Calculate tax estimates and prepare estimated tax vouchers.
• Process e‑filings, extensions, and estimates in FastTax, track status, and resolve rejections.
• Review source documents for completeness and accuracy before data entry.
• Reconcile tax information with financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Maintain organized electronic tax workpapers and client documentation.
• Coordinate with team members to gather missing information and resolve discrepancies.
• Monitor filing deadlines and assist with tax calendar management.
• Communicate with custodians, clients, and internal departments on tax‑related requests.
• Verify federal and state filing requirements for individuals, trusts, and entities.
• Assist with special tax projects and provide administrative support during peak periods.

Required profile

• 5‑10 years of high‑net‑worth tax experience.
• Broad tax background, including corporate and partnership tax.
• Excellent communication skills and strong analytical ability.
• Detail‑oriented and highly organized.
• CPA certification is a plus; family‑office experience is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with GoSystem tax software.
• Experience using FastTax for electronic filings.
• Familiarity with Axys data management.
