Systems Engineer – Military Vehicle Sub‑systems

About the role

Moog is seeking a Systems Engineer to join its Santa Barbara Operations team. You will work on mission‑critical sub‑systems and components for modern military vehicles, leveraging the company’s heritage in electro‑hydraulic and electromechanical actuation.

Key responsibilities

• Design environmentally robust, high‑reliability liner and rotary actuators.
• Evaluate designs using mechanical, structural dynamics, electrical, thermal, and rotary‑motion analyses.
• Predict system‑level performance of candidate approaches and select optimal solutions.
• Lead an integrated product‑development team to ensure timely project completion.
• Interpret customer specifications and requirements.
• Travel up to 25% of the time based on mission needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in system development and integration.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail, high motivation, and a solid work ethic.
• Eligibility to access US export‑controlled information and obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Required skills

• System design and integration across mechanical, electrical, thermal, and structural domains.
• MATLAB/Simulink proficiency.
