Systems Administrator (Space Force Range Contract)

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Systems Administrator to support the Space Force Range Contract (SFRC). The role covers system administration, troubleshooting and support, and working with the Cybersecurity team to keep systems compliant with DoD directives.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, manage and troubleshoot Windows and Linux servers and workstations, and network infrastructure such as routers, switches and firewalls.
• Provide expert-level technical support and act as an escalation point for user-reported problems (Tier 1 and 2).
• Monitor system performance, resource utilization and network traffic, and carry out routine preventative maintenance, backups and recovery.
• Work with the Cybersecurity team to apply STIGs, manage vulnerabilities, respond to incidents and maintain Authority to Operate under the Risk Management Framework.
• Write procedures and reports where needed, and perform other tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, cybersecurity or a related field with three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications and seven years of systems administration experience.
• Current DoD 8140 IAT Level II (or higher) certification.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance, including U.S. citizenship.
• Valid U.S. driver's license, ability to lift 50 lbs, occasional travel, and willingness to work non-duty hours and weekends.

Required skills

• Windows and Linux, and network hardware such as HP, Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto and NetAcquire.
• Enterprise services: Active Directory, DNS, DHCP.
• Virtual server platforms and Microsoft Office.
• Preferred: CCNA, MCSA, Linux/VMware credentials, serial data communications, test equipment, and Western Range operations experience.
