Systems Administrator II

About the role

Riot Platforms is expanding its hyperscale data‑center footprint for AI and HPC workloads and needs a Systems Administrator II to keep its internal IT environment running smoothly. Based in Austin, Texas, you will be responsible for the stability, performance and security of physical and virtual servers across multiple sites, as well as supporting the engineering‑focused subsidiary ESS Metron.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain and troubleshoot physical and virtual server infrastructure across several locations.
• Administer Windows and Ubuntu Linux operating systems.
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, Entra ID and Microsoft 365 identity and access services.
• Provision, lifecycle‑manage and optimise virtualization platforms such as Proxmox, Nutanix, Hyper‑V and VMware.
• Oversee patch management, vulnerability remediation and compliance.
• Maintain core infrastructure services including DNS, DHCP, file services, backups and Microsoft 365 collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint Online).
• Collaborate with mechanical/electrical engineering teams, plant operations and external vendors to ensure reliable system performance for the manufacturing environment.

Required profile

• Hands‑on IT professional who can work independently and take ownership of the environment.
• Detail‑oriented with a strong focus on stability, security and performance.
• Experience supporting multi‑site server environments in fast‑paced settings.
