Systems Administrator – 2nd Shift

About the role

Leidos is looking for a Systems Administrator to join its Digital Modernization Sector and support the GIG Service Management – Operations II (GSM‑O II) program. The role works on a 24x7 Network Operations team, providing second‑shift coverage (2 pm‑10 pm, Monday‑Friday) for a secure, mission‑critical mobile device capability service for the Department of Defense.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, configure, and ensure reliable operation of Windows and Linux servers, virtual machines, and related infrastructure.
• Install, upgrade, and patch operating systems, applications, and security tools.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, run diagnostics, document resolutions, and escalate vendor problems when needed.
• Perform server administration tasks such as user/group management, security permissions, and Group Policy configuration.
• Monitor device health with existing management tools, respond to incidents, and assist in building and testing new servers.
• Support LAN, WAN, VPN gateways, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other network appliances.
• Conduct routine audits, backup verification, and security compliance checks.

Required profile

• Experience with Windows Server and Linux server operations in a 24x7 environment.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies and automation processes.
• Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to document and prioritize issues.
• Ability to work second‑shift hours and collaborate with global customers and senior managers.
