System Solutions / Sales Engineer (RF Systems)

About the role

GateSource HR is recruiting, on behalf of a key partner, a System Solutions / Sales Engineer for RF systems in the Indian River County area. The role combines technical pre-sales work with customer solutions, advising clients on system design and supporting the commercial team.

Key responsibilities

• Guide solution design, including system architecture, component selection, cost estimation, compliance checks and bill of materials preparation.
• Work with sales to evaluate technical requirements beyond standard offerings and create custom technical proposal content.
• Build trust with clients and partners through strategic technical insight and act as a trusted advisor.
• Deliver on-site and remote product demos and present to executives and operational stakeholders.
• Capture and document customer requirements not yet supported and help align internal teams on feasibility.
• Take part in planning sessions with sales and engineering teams and promote consistent pre-sales methodologies.

Required profile

• At least five years of hands-on experience with one of Motorola, Kenwood, L3Harris, EF Johnson or Tait.
• Deep knowledge of analog and digital (trunked and conventional) RF communications architectures and familiarity with microwave backhaul.
• Customer-focused communication skills and ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
• Comfortable with domestic travel of up to 35%, including overnight stays, and able to work at customer sites; a valid driver's license is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience; RF engineering, TCP/IP, networking and cybersecurity knowledge is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and Visio.
• Networking fundamentals and IP-based systems; exposure to LMR security and compliance is beneficial.
• Ability to prepare and deliver technical documentation, presentations and diagrams.
