System Administrator 3 (Tier 1/2 Help Desk)

About the role

Amentum is seeking a System Administrator 3 to provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution, and to support the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems, including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices and mobile devices.
• Manage IT system infrastructure and related processes.
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support and communicate status to management and internal customers.
• Support the dispatch system and hardware problems and stay involved in their resolution.
• Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems, install OS software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity, configure network components and implement OS enhancements for reliability and performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university, or 5 additional years of work-related experience in lieu of the degree (total of 20 years).
• 15 years of experience as a System Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity.
• TS/SCI Poly clearance required.
• DoD 8570.01-M compliance with a minimum certification of IAT Level II.

Required skills

• Good understanding of Windows and Linux as an end user.
• UNIX and Windows administration.
