Supply Chain Planner - Polyurethanes (Geismar, LA)

About the role

BASF is hiring a Supply Chain Planner for its Performance Materials team in Geismar, Louisiana, reporting to the Supply Chain Manager for Polyurethanes (PU). The role sits within the Polyurethane Systems Supply Chain Team and focuses mainly on raw material planning at the Geismar facility, covering internal and external raw materials, packaging and imports, and the supply/demand balance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage inventory levels to support targets and desired customer service levels
• Order raw materials and packaging using material planning processes, including MRP, to meet the production plan
• Coordinate and reconcile monthly cycle counts
• Prepare documentation for outbound shipments, including exports
• Contribute to supply chain KPIs such as inventory targets, cost savings and reduction of dysfunctional inventory

Required profile

• BA or BS degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management or a related field preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in supply chain, customer care, production planning, scheduling, material planning or a related field; non-degree candidates expected to have 6-10 years of related experience
• Ability to work in a team and strong written and verbal communication, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
• Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Required skills

• Detailed working knowledge of SAP for production planning, raw material replenishment, material master maintenance, shipping scheduling and inventory reconciliation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint
