Summer Sophomore Internship – Supervision Group

About the role

The Summer Sophomore Internship in the Supervision Group offers undergraduate sophomores a ten‑week, full‑time, on‑site experience at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Interns join a cohort, receive a professional mentor, and work on real projects that support the supervision of banks and financial institutions in the Second District.

Key responsibilities

• Assist staff in evaluating the safety and soundness of domestic and foreign banking organizations.
• Support data collection and analysis for periodic on‑site examinations and off‑site surveillance.
• Contribute to research on emerging supervisory risks and policy development.
• Collaborate with team members across seven functional areas, such as Quality Assurance, GSIB Risk Exams, and Consumer Compliance.
• Prepare briefings and reports for senior leaders and mentors.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled as a sophomore in an undergraduate program.
• Strong interest in finance, banking regulation, or public‑service economics.
• Demonstrated analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team‑oriented environment.
