Summer Research Internship 2027

About the role

The AIER Summer Internship offers undergraduate and recent graduate students a hands‑on research experience in economic policy and public‑choice analysis. Interns work directly with AIER researchers on a self‑directed project that culminates in a conference presentation or journal article.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute an original research project, including literature review, methodology selection, and data analysis.
• Present findings to AIER staff, visiting scholars, and peers at the end of the internship.
• Participate in a rigorous reading‑and‑discussion curriculum covering public‑choice theory, monetary policy, and property rights.
• Attend workshops on academic writing, econometrics, Bloomberg terminal data, blockchain technology, and cryptocurrency trading.
• Collaborate with AIER researchers and contribute to policy‑relevant economic analysis.

Required profile

• Current undergraduate or recent graduate interested in economic research, academia, or the private sector.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to formulate and test research questions.
• Willingness to engage in intensive reading, discussion, and feedback sessions.
