Summer Internship – Airworthiness & Certification Engineering

About the role

Airbus is offering a summer internship in its Airworthiness & Certification Engineering team located in Mobile, Alabama. Interns will be fully integrated into daily operations, gaining hands‑on experience with aircraft certification, design approvals and regulatory compliance under EASA and FAA frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Work alongside senior engineers on initial delivery declarations, repair approvals and DOA monitoring.
• Manage and improve internal communication platforms such as the team Google Site.
• Design, build and maintain performance and financial dashboards for department leadership.
• Update and refine certification data‑tracking tools used for aircraft upgrades and modifications.
• Participate in engineering improvement projects including automation, digitalisation, API/web‑app development and data analytics.
• Generate engineering reports, templates and weekly status updates, and organise engineering data for document routing.
• Attend meetings, record minutes and coordinate with internal and external customers.
• Support service bulletin review, engineering assistance and project management activities.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a full‑time 4‑year engineering degree (Mechanical, Aeronautical, Aerospace, Civil, Systems, Electrical, Computer Engineering or Computer Science) or a master’s program.
• At least sophomore level; authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
• Previous experience leading engineering projects, internships or research assistance.
• Basic programming knowledge (Python, Apps Script) and familiarity with CAD tools.
• Proficient with Google or Microsoft Office suites and strong English communication skills.
