Summer Cabin Engineering Internship

About the role

Airbus is seeking a Summer Intern for Cabin Engineering to join the Design and Analysis Teams in Mobile, AL. The internship runs from May to August 2027 and provides hands‑on experience in designing, analyzing, and certifying interior components of commercial aircraft.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in engineering improvement projects such as automation, digitalization, API/web‑application development, and data analytics.
• Generate engineering reports, templates, and weekly status updates to support ongoing projects.
• Organise engineering data, route documents for review, and record meeting minutes.
• Assist in creating presentation material, illustrations, and data visualisations.
• Support the department by drafting engineering documents, archiving files, and compiling results for future reference.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a full‑time 4‑year engineering degree (Mechanical, Aeronautical, Aerospace, Civil, Systems, Electrical, Computer) or a Master’s program; sophomore level or higher.
• Authorized to work in the US without current or future visa sponsorship.
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering or research projects, either as a student or previous intern.

Required skills

• Programming: Python, C++, R.
• Data Science, Data Analytics, Web/API Development.
• Systems Engineering and Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
• CAD tools and analysis software such as MathCAD, Nastran, Patran.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to read and interpret technical procedures, engineering drawings, and bill‑of‑materials.
