About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York is offering a ten‑week Summer 2027 Statistics Internship for undergraduate sophomores. Interns join the Statistics Function, supporting data capture, quality assurance, and analysis that underpin the safety of the U.S. financial system.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the ingestion and quality assurance of financial and organizational data from a variety of institutions.
• Conduct data analysis and create visualizations to support internal and external stakeholder reports.
• Collaborate with a cohort of fellow interns and mentors on project‑based assignments.
• Participate in learning events with senior leaders to gain insight into public service and financial markets.

Required profile

• Current sophomore pursuing a degree in finance, economics, data science, accounting, or a related field.
• Strong academic record and demonstrated interest in data‑driven financial analysis.
• Ability to work full‑time onsite in New York for the ten‑week program.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with data‑visualization tools such as Tableau.
• Experience or coursework in Python programming.
• Basic understanding of PowerBuilder or similar data‑management tools.
