Summer 2027 Internship - Interaction Design

About the role

Stryker is looking for an Interaction Designer for Emergency Care for its Summer 2027 internship in Washington. You will join an experienced team of designers to define, design and document the user-experience and interface aspects of Emergency Care products, with a focus on mobile and web software. You will work closely with software engineering, marketing and clinical teams, while maintaining Stryker's visual design brand language for user interfaces.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the design team to define, design and document user-experience and interface aspects of Emergency Care products
• Support UI and UX elements across a variety of products, working with engineering, marketing and clinical teams
• Maintain Stryker's visual design brand language for user interface design and functionality
• Advocate for the end user within a cross-functional product design and development team

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in UX/UI Design, Human-Computer Interaction or a related field
• Foundational skills in digital prototyping, creative problem solving and UX/UI workflows; user research experience is a bonus
• Portfolio showing clear process, rationale, design thinking and openness to feedback
• Problem solver, articulate communicator, attentive multitasker and relationship builder

Required skills

• Proficiency with Figma, AI plugins or software, Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools preferred
• Information architecture, user and task flow diagrams, interaction modeling and design systems

• $20 minimum to $35 maximum hourly wage
