About the role

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking a Student Support Specialist to join the College of Humanities Arts, Social Sciences & Education. This professional staff position supports student retention and wellbeing across undergraduate and graduate programs.

Key responsibilities

• Report directly to the Associate Dean of Student Services.
• Collaborate with Deans and faculty to develop and implement retention strategies.
• Provide students with resources and guidance on emotional and mental health concerns.
• Assist students facing financial stress, academic challenges, or personal difficulties.
• Maintain documentation and follow state, federal, and institutional policies.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, conferred before the start date.
• Eligibility for social work licensure.
• Commitment to a five‑year externally funded appointment, with potential for extension.
