Student Support Coordinator

About the role

The Student Support Coordinator works within the Department of Computer Science to support student organizations and the Computing Catalyst team. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Partnership Development and the Associate Director of Computing Catalyst, the role serves as the primary liaison for student groups, guiding them on departmental and university policies and coordinating event logistics.

Key responsibilities

• Provide guidance on policies, host town‑hall meetings, and coordinate purchasing requests with the business office.
• Assist student organizations with logistics for large events and support external‑relations activities as needed.
• Manage program logistics for Computing Catalyst initiatives such as student success, career development, mentoring, scholarships, and experiential learning.
• Direct student employees, maintain program data and reporting, and collaborate with departmental and campus stakeholders.
• Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and attend on‑ and off‑campus events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Experience in program coordination, event planning, or student services (at least one year preferred).
• Strong organizational, communication, and project‑management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in office software for scheduling, budgeting, and reporting.
• Experience with event‑setup tasks such as arranging furniture, lifting up to 25 lb, and supervising event registration.
