Student Development Specialist

About the role

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking a Student Development Specialist to join the College of Business, Health, and Human Services. In this position you will guide undergraduate students through their initial advising process and support a range of administrative functions that enhance student success.

Key responsibilities

• Provide initial academic advising for undergraduate students in the College of Business, Health, and Human Services.
• Perform day‑to‑day administrative duties for the college, including record‑keeping and coordination of student services.
• Act as a student advocate, helping to resolve issues and ensure compliance with state, federal, and institutional policies.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and external partners to promote student development initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in education, academic advising, student affairs, or a related field, or a Bachelor’s degree with at least two years of relevant experience.
• Experience working in a higher‑education environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with complex database systems, especially Workday, is desirable.
