Student Development Specialist III (Risk Management)

About the role

The Student Development Specialist III supports the Student Conduct Office by ensuring compliance with federal, state and local regulations, as well as university policies. Working within the Risk Management and Compliance unit, the specialist contributes to risk mitigation, educational outreach, and the investigation of student conduct matters.

Key responsibilities

• Determine departmental priorities for compliance, risk mitigation, and outreach.
• Ensure Clery Act compliance and proper student records retention and destruction.
• Assist staff in meeting federal, state, local, and university policy requirements.
• Serve as the department’s representative on university risk‑management committees.
• Conduct investigations, develop and deliver presentations, and facilitate educational workshops and sanctions.

Required profile

• Works under general direction to maintain departmental compliance with laws and policies.
• Assists in risk mitigation efforts and outreach education for students.
• Supports office initiatives, services, and projects, including investigations and training.
