Strategic Sourcing Manager – Hivemind Subcontracts

About the role

Shield AI is looking for a highly driven Strategic Sourcing Manager to support its Hivemind programs. The role sits at the intersection of supply chain, engineering, and program management, overseeing complex supplier relationships and subcontracted engineering work.

Key responsibilities

• Lead sourcing and subcontract management activities, including supplier selection, negotiations, contract execution, and performance monitoring.
• Partner with Engineering, Program Management, Legal, Finance, and Operations to develop and manage detailed Statements of Work, deliverables, milestones, and technical requirements.
• Manage subcontractors performing engineering, integration, manufacturing, or testing activities for Shield AI programs.
• Drive supplier execution through milestone tracking, risk identification, issue resolution, and performance reporting.
• Travel regularly to supplier and program sites to oversee technical reviews, integration activities, and production readiness.
• Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, schedules, and payment milestones while balancing cost, schedule, quality, and risk.
• Administer various contract types such as fixed‑price, time‑and‑materials, milestone‑based, and cost‑reimbursable agreements.
• Maintain accurate procurement and subcontract records in Deltek Costpoint and related systems.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, subcontracts, or related program‑facing procurement roles.
• Proven ability to manage subcontractors delivering SOW‑based engineering or technical work.
• Experience negotiating commercial agreements, SOWs, pricing, schedules, and contractual terms.
• Strong organizational, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to travel domestically up to 50% of the time.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
