Sterile Processing Technician (PRN)

About the role

The Sterile Processing Technician ensures surgical instruments and equipment are clean, sterile, and ready for use, directly supporting patient safety and successful outcomes. This PRN position offers flexible, as‑needed coverage for the surgical team.

Key responsibilities

• Decontaminate, disinfect, and sterilize instruments and equipment according to strict standards.
• Assemble surgical trays and instrument sets with accuracy, then wrap, label, and prepare them for sterilization and transport.
• Maintain organized inventory of instruments, implants, and supplies, communicating shortages or damaged items.
• Collaborate with surgical staff to ensure timely availability of instruments and support efficient workflow.

Required profile

• Previous sterile processing or healthcare experience preferred but not required.
• Willingness to obtain IAHCSMM/HSPA or CBSPD certification within two years of hire.
• Strong organizational, critical‑thinking, and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite and learning additional software.
