Sterile Processing Technician

About the role

Logan Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join its surgical support team at the Kalispell Medical Center. This full‑time night‑shift position ensures that all surgical instruments and equipment are decontaminated, sterilized, inspected, assembled, and ready for use, directly contributing to patient safety and successful outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Decontaminate, disinfect, and sterilize instruments and equipment according to strict departmental and regulatory standards.
• Perform quality assurance checks, inspect for damage, and ensure instruments are surgery‑ready.
• Assemble surgical trays and instrument sets with precision, label, wrap, and prepare them for sterilization and transport.
• Maintain organized inventory of instruments, implants, and supplies; report shortages or damaged items.
• Collaborate with surgical staff to ensure timely availability of instruments and support efficient workflow.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; previous sterile processing or healthcare experience preferred but not required.
• Willingness to obtain IAHCSMM or CBSPD certification within two years of hire.
• Strong organizational, critical‑thinking, and communication abilities.
• Physical stamina to lift trays, push carts, and stand for extended periods.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn additional software.
