Stephanie Lovell Honors Fellowship – Entry-Level Attorney Program

About the role

The Stephanie Lovell Honors Fellowship is a two‑year, full‑time program that begins in September 2027. It offers recent law graduates and advanced law students the chance to practice law and policy within the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office, rotating across multiple divisions and bureaus.

Key responsibilities

• Complete three rotations across diverse practice areas such as civil rights, health care, consumer protection, environmental law, criminal prosecution, and administrative law.
• Conduct legal research, draft memoranda, briefs, and other legal documents under the supervision of experienced attorneys.
• Participate in case strategy meetings and assist senior counsel in courtroom preparation.
• Engage with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives of the office.
• Assume individual responsibility for assigned tasks and deliver high‑quality legal work.

Required profile

• Third‑year day or fourth‑year evening law students scheduled to graduate in 2027, or current full‑time judicial law clerks who received their J.D. prior to 2027.
• Must sit for the Massachusetts bar exam no later than July 2027 and be admitted to the bar before the second‑year rotation.
• Commitment to a two‑year term with the Attorney General’s Office.
