Staff Software Engineer

About the role

QuoteWell is building a modern commercial insurance brokerage that blends technology with deep domain expertise. As a Staff Software Engineer you will help shape both the product roadmap and the business outcomes by delivering AI‑enhanced features that make brokers more efficient.

Key responsibilities

• Own and ship features across our all‑TypeScript stack (React + Node) to create high‑impact products.
• Partner with Product, Design, and Data teams to define problems, break them into incremental solutions, and validate with users.
• Design and implement AI‑driven, agentic solutions that empower insurance experts.
• Model complex insurance data in intuitive, user‑friendly tools that improve decision‑making.
• Collaborate in a remote‑first, flexible engineering culture while learning about insurance domain.

Required profile

• Strong experience with TypeScript, React, and Node (or a very similar stack) and a proven record of shipping production code.
• Demonstrated ability to influence product and business direction through engineering insights.
• Curiosity about applied AI/LLM techniques and how they can power real products.
• Excellent collaborative skills across the full product lifecycle.
• Generalist mindset with willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to business needs.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to Austin or team off‑sites.
