Staff Software Engineer – C# / Java / JavaScript

About the role

Applied Research Associates (ARA) is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join its Baton Rouge team. You will collaborate with developers and engineers to design, build, and maintain enterprise‑level software solutions that support Navy and other military operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and debug applications using C#, Java, or JavaScript.
• Implement front‑end interfaces with React, Angular, or Vue.
• Perform code analysis, reviews, and unit testing.
• Create and maintain graphical user interfaces.
• Document software functionality and provide post‑release support.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.
• BA/BS in Computer Science or related field.
• 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in small, agile teams.
