Staff Program Manager – Aerospace Defense

About the role

Moog’s Military Aircraft Group in Torrance, CA is looking for a Staff Program Manager to lead a strategic development program for a key defense customer. Reporting to the Program Director, you will coordinate cross‑functional teams to deliver a product from design through initial production while meeting schedule, quality and budget targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the program through design, development, qualification and initial production, coordinating across engineering, manufacturing and support functions.
• Manage program budgets, schedules and cost performance, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
• Lead day‑to‑day communications with the customer, Moog management and internal teams to resolve issues and drive recovery plans when needed.
• Support business capture efforts by contributing to proposal teams and expanding Moog’s book of business.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science degree with at least ten years of professional experience, including six+ years in program management on aerospace or defense programs.
• Proven ability to lead, organize and influence cross‑functional teams, work independently and deliver results under pressure.
• Experience developing and communicating program budgets, plans and schedules, and understanding contractual scope.
• Ability to access U.S. export‑controlled information and obtain a U.S. security clearance (preferred).

Required skills

• Earned Value Management (EVM) principles.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred).
