Staff Integration & Test Software Engineer

About the role

Join the Platform Software Test Team to own testing and validation of the core firmware platform that powers Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies' product portfolio. You will shape testing strategies, drive continuous improvement, and ensure the highest quality for software‑defined vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Design architectures and develop embedded software for ECU simulation and physical test assets.
• Maintain scalable automation and test frameworks for rapid engineering and manufacturing environments.
• Create multi‑tiered test suites to detect regressions early.
• Collaborate with firmware and test engineers to fill simulation and testing gaps.
• Influence automated testing and release strategies across the organization.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to design verifiable end‑to‑end user journeys.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience with Python scripting and testing frameworks such as pytest.
• 8+ years developing software for embedded products.
• Strong understanding of development lifecycles, testing methodologies, and QA processes.
• Experience with GitLab CI or equivalent continuous integration systems.
• Effective communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
