About the role
DXP is seeking a Staff Engineer to join its Tyler, TX team. The role focuses on centrifugal pump design, including impeller, case volute, and diffuser development, as well as performance re‑rating for industrial customers.
Key responsibilities
- Self‑study centrifugal pump design and begin designing impellers, case volutes, diffusers, and re‑rating pumps.
- Perform trim and thrust load analyses for remanufacturing and manufacturing facilities.
- Map pump case volutes, collect critical hydraulic dimensions, and produce detailed drawings.
- Create volute and case throat modification drawings based on engineering data.
- Manage pump case volute and impeller modifications performed by shop personnel.
- Generate 3D models of hydraulic components using SolidWorks.
- Create fluid models for CFD analysis.
Required profile
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks, SolidWorks 2D and/or DraftSight.
- Strong Excel or spreadsheet skills.
- Good verbal and communication abilities.
