Staff Engineer – Flight Test (Hivemind Solutions)

About the role

As a Staff Engineer for Flight Test, you will lead integration, verification, and flight testing of Hivemind AI Pilot capabilities on autonomous collaborative platforms. You will translate program objectives into detailed test plans across simulation, hardware‑in‑the‑loop, ground and flight environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute integration and flight test plans covering simulation, SIL, HIL, ground and flight test environments.
• Coordinate readiness of simulation environments, integration labs, aircraft and test assets.
• Define test objectives, performance metrics and success criteria with traceability to requirements.
• Lead aircraft integration, software integration, mission planning, real‑time troubleshooting and post‑flight data analysis.
• Work with OEMs, government ranges and flight operations to establish test readiness and satisfy safety requirements.
• Evaluate test results, identify technical issues and recommend corrective actions.

Required profile

• 8+ years (or 6+ with Master’s) of experience in flight test of aircraft systems in military or defense aviation.
• Strong knowledge of safety‑of‑flight principles, risk management and disciplined test execution.
• Experience with system‑level verification and validation across SIL, HIL, simulation and flight.
• Ability to communicate effectively with pilots, operators and engineers and to brief program leadership.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.

Required skills

• Python scripting for test automation, data analysis or system validation.
• Version control and issue tracking tools such as Git, Jira or Azure DevOps.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipeline concepts.
