Staff Engineer – Electromechanical Systems Advanced Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a Staff Engineer to lead electromechanical systems advanced manufacturing for defense‑aerospace platforms. The role focuses on designing, scaling and optimizing production of actuators, hydraulics, pneumatics, motors and integrated mechanical/electrical subsystems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing engineering efforts for electromechanical subsystems and assemblies.
• Develop and optimize processes, tooling, work instructions and production flows for actuators, motors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, pumps, powertrain components and motion‑control assemblies.
• Partner with design engineering to improve manufacturability, reliability, testability and producibility.
• Drive root‑cause investigations, corrective actions and supplier qualification activities.
• Lead DFM/DFA reviews, transition new products into manufacturing and define standards, process controls and acceptance criteria.
• Mentor junior manufacturing engineers and collaborate with production, quality, supply chain and test teams.

Required profile

• 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience with electromechanical systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics or related field.
• Experience in prototype manufacturing within a startup or rapid‑growth environment.
• Proven ability to work in fast‑paced, high‑pressure settings and adapt to changing priorities.

Required skills

• MES and QMS systems.
• 3DEXPERIENCE and Teamcenter PLM platforms.
• 5S/visual management and Standard Operating Procedures.
• DFM/DFA principles and GD&T.
• Actuators, hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, drives and motion‑control assemblies.
• Root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action methodologies.
• Lean manufacturing, ERP/MES data analysis.
• CAD software proficiency.
