Staff Accountant

About the role

Arlo Hotels is seeking a dynamic Staff Accountant to join its finance team in New York. The role supports hotel operations by handling guest billing, payroll, and a full spectrum of accounting functions while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Process guest and client inquiries, bill direct‑bill accounts, and manage accounts receivable, including follow‑up on overdue items.
• Investigate and resolve credit‑card chargebacks and reconcile daily credit‑card transactions.
• Execute weekly payroll processing, maintain payroll records, and ensure compliance with applicable laws.
• Handle accounts payable duties, petty‑cash vouchers, gift‑certificate vouchers, and prepare journal vouchers.
• Assist the Assistant Director of Finance and Director of Finance with balance‑sheet reconciliations and audit coordination.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports required by federal agencies.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with front‑desk, revenue management, purchasing, sales, and food‑and‑beverage teams.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple responsibilities in a fast‑paced hotel environment.
