SRS Quality Control Research Administrator

About the role

Texas A&M University’s Sponsored Research Services (SRS) provides research administration support across the university system. The Quality Control Research Administrator ensures proposals meet sponsor and institutional requirements, prepares budgets, and coordinates documentation to facilitate successful research submissions.

Key responsibilities

• Review proposal packages for compliance with sponsor, federal, state, and university regulations, including budgets and supporting documentation.
• Develop and maintain sponsor‑specific checklists, guidance documents, and training resources for proposal administrators.
• Prepare and revise proposal budgets, internal packages, and supplementary documents, entering data into systems such as Grants.gov.
• Coordinate with faculty, department heads, deans, and staff to resolve proposal issues and ensure timely submission.
• Mentor staff and student workers, providing training on quality‑control processes.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Adobe software.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Word.
• Experience using Grants.gov and other electronic research administration portals.
• CRA® certification (preferred).
• CPRA® certification (preferred).
