Sr. Systems Engineer - Low Voltage

About the role

Join the Energy Management Systems Engineering team at the Rivian‑Volkswagen joint venture, where you will design and implement low‑voltage systems for next‑generation electric vehicles. This senior position offers the chance to shape vehicle architecture and deliver high‑impact features that enhance customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead definition and decomposition of the low‑voltage system, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to create user stories, system definitions, and functional requirements.
• Drive implementation of the low‑voltage power system from concept through public release.
• Support vehicle architecture development via trade studies, proof‑of‑concept work, and strategic analysis.
• Develop and document requirements from feature level down to component level.
• Create test requirements for 12 V battery and low‑voltage system characterization.
• Participate in board bring‑up, HIL testing, validation testing, and other integration activities.
• Assist cross‑functional teams in issue resolution through data analysis and hands‑on testing.
• Coordinate system delivery timing to meet development milestones.
• Develop comprehensive DVP&R plans and conduct validation tests at SIL, HIL, component, and vehicle levels.

Required profile

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Software/Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with requirement management for safety‑critical systems.
• Development and integration experience with embedded systems (preferred).
• Background in controls validation across SIL/HIL/Component/Vehicle test levels (preferred).
• Familiarity with low‑voltage systems and batteries (a plus).
• Knowledge of high‑voltage vehicle systems (a plus).
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced development environment and strong communication skills.
